Nathaniel Shrake is a Marine Corps veteran, an ASU alum, and a Recreation Therapist. He is also the author of two full-length novels of fiction, A Vantage of Darkness and American Petrichor. His writing is known for its literary interpretation of the horror genre. His inspirations include Stephen King, Mark Z. Danielewski, Kurt Vonnegut, and Charles Bukowski. 

When not writing he enjoys shooting pool, a neat whiskey, traveling the American west, and watching horror movies. He used to sing in a rock band and often daydreams about getting back to the Colorado River and its rapids.

He is originally from Phoenix, Arizona and currently resides in Cheyenne, Wyoming with his wife, son, dog, and cat (pictured; right)
